earth-loveWe heard a lot about Pickens Plan late last year, so at the time I decided to create Dawn’s Plan.  Instead of an energy policy, my plan is about creating a workable Web economy to earn money for individuals and companies with all kinds of talents, skills, interests and passions.

At the heart of my plan is what I’ve identified and named as The Square Triangle.  My argument is that it’s the business model that propelled us into our modern economy a century ago, and the model that we desperately need to replicate online.

In a nutshell, the Square Triangle Model (STM) is about giving control of advertising distribution to individuals who use blogs, social networks and any other kind of social media.  It’s about giving you ownership and control of your social graph and paying you for its use.

With some of the money you earn via advertising, subscriptions to your specialty feeds, and/or your original creative works, you can support others by using some of the money to purchase their digital goods.

Newspapers buy content from syndicates in order to increase readership and thereby secure more profitable advertising.  You will be able to do the same from photographers, cartoonists, videographers, game and app developers, musicians, animators and on and on.

For companies or individuals with something to sell, STM will provide efficient and effective advertising.  No more click fraud.  No more worthless CPM.

If we “drill, drill, drill” human talent – which is an abundant and infinitely renewable resource the world over! – and if we facilitate better collaboration between technology, media, advertising and entertainment  to produce a global digitalized economy –  that requires no manufacturing or distribution costs and no landfills, but allows the Earth’s people to learn about each other – then we can once again enjoy an explosion of economic activity that will help carry the entire globe into a more prosperous, peaceful and environmentally friendly 21st century.

My email is dawn_douglass at Yahoo.

Who am I?:

vladstudio_dawn_1440x9001I’m Dawn Douglass.  I have a degree in anthropology with a minor in journalism, and an MBA in marketing and international business.  I have lived in nine different states in the U.S. and love to travel to foreign countries.  I have worked literally dozens of jobs:  from peon to boss to outside consultant to owner – so I can commiserate at any level.

I’m fluent in three languages: English, Texan and Mom.   I can also speak in broken tech and must have a charming accent, because listeners often smile and snicker.

I’m a 49 year old widow, cancer survivor, and happy Catholic.  I like to write, esp. cartoons, and once came close to getting a comic strip syndicated.  (There is actually another Dawn Douglass who is a cartoonist.   If you ever get confused, simply give me all the credit and blame her for it all. 😉 )

My greatest strength is problem solving.  My greatest weakness is chocolate cake.  With vanilla ice cream.  And nuts.

Welcome to my blog and to my plan to help the Web evolve to its rightful place as an economic benefactor to humans around the globe.

Visual problems, eh? Hmmmm…I don’t know what that’s about. It looks okay when I use IE. Maybe you have an older version of IE??? I’ll try to figure out what’s wrong. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks, Steve. I’m good. I’ll be launching a new blog very soon. I’ll post the URL here in a week or two. It will have my own “cartoons” on it to help explain what I think will fix most of the things going wrong in America. We’re in real trouble! We can turn it around. Cartoonists should be part of that, I think. 🙂
